Happy writing!
You had me laughing pretty hard here, Dean! Probably one of my favorites.
Everyone has secrets; mine can get me killed. The aroma of fresh strawberries lured me to the cemetery. I brushed the leaves away from Granny’s grave marker and immediately regretted opening the door to the past. It happened right in front of me and I never meant to hit Granny with the rolling pin. Shane picked a bad time to confront me and she got in between us as Shane accused me of stealing Granny’s secret jam recipe. I had no choice but to write the letter to the District Attorney’s office. Shane was working undercover for Smucker’s and he was the one after Granny’s recipe. He should be buried here instead of Granny. Now she’s gone, he has the recipe, and my career as a Jam Chef is smeared over the front page of the County Inquirer like so much bad jelly.
