In honor of National Grammar Day, here’s a list of prompts that . . . ah . . . have nothing to do with grammar. Just celebrate this day by picking a prompt (or two!) and write something. Honor this momentous occasion with a short story, poem or flash fiction. You’re welcome to post it in the comments section, on your own blog (link it, baby) or among the pages of your journal.

Well done, Dean, as always. The man behind the glass freaks me out.
Evan couldn’t believe his luck, when the elevator doors opened and he saw Layla taking one last swig of beer. Evan hated that he knew about the man who stood behind the glass while waiting for the memory of Layla walking from his bathroom and into the closet to fade. It wasn’t supposed to get out of hand, but the man behind the glass made sure that Dave knew he’d never be allowed back to the lake, which at first appeared flawlessly frozen over. But then Amy also saw the man behind the glass, raised her hand gun and fired. The glass shattered and the man was gone. But was he dead?
