Happy writing!
There’s never “the” right moment to tell Mom exactly when the marinara sauce dripped down the wall. But, as usual, I said something to her as she stood next to my bed, reminded of the incident after the ER nurse gave me the option of a cleansing enema. I recalled that something didn’t feel right when I entered the ER, most likely beginning when the receptionist turned to greet me and I saw his keys hung from the large purple nose ring he wore. The shrubbery of his mustache and beard concealed his mouth, the remote trail of Cheeto’s crumb that led to his mouth, the only clue that a possible opening existed. Mom was pissed about the sauce thing, so he piped up to the ER nurse and said, “Give him a double, he deserves it.”

(Corrected version. Sorry….)
I thought your previous prompt paragraphs would be hard to top, but this one is one stellar; best yet. *bowing down* I’m not worthy, I’m not worthy . . .
Well, I bent the prompts a little bit, but they didn’t break, so I went for it. Thanks for these weekly wordsmith exercises! You are deemed worthy, indeed.
